The original ‘Nurburgring Mechanical’ name and brand had out-lasted its shelf life, and further to this a rapid departure from the name and associated assumptions was suggested by the owners of the famous Nurburgring race track in Germany.
The new brand mark evolved through a consultative and in depth conceptual process, with the final solution reflecting owner and director David Brennan’s own background. The brandmark colour palette references that of Martini Racing, which is a storied part of Porsche racing history and intrinsically linked to the pedigree of the marque. David is an accomplished racer in his own right so linking a racing heritage to the brand was perfect synergy. The 9XX name itself is derivative of Porsche model No sequencing which always refers to a 9 prefix and two subsquent numbers.
To set about the rebrand Tangent audited all existing brand assets and identified implemantation required. The existing name and brand was well recognized with an established online footprint, so the roll out needed to be well executed to avoid confusion and ensure customers and suppliers were informed. Tangent are proud to have been a part of this brand evolution and continue its future journey.
